Building a Snow Fort
Saturday, December 8th snow fell in salt lake city. Walter, Jack and Henry woke up to a thick blanket of snow, perfect for playing in. It was the kind of snow that was wet and heavy and packed down great. Perfect for snow men, or snow caves...
The boys and daddy went into the backyard to begin to play in this wonderful white stuff. Daddy started shoveling off the patio and began to pile to snow up into one big mound. The mound grew and grew until it was almost as tall as him. The pile then was packed down tight into a perfect igloo shape. Next came the carving and digging out. Being a boyscout, daddy was a seasoned pro at this task. Walter was thrilled with the result and promptly climed into the magical cave. However, daddy was not done yet. Once the boys went inside for lunch daddy continued digging and created another chamber for the cave. Now the boys could go in one side and crawl through to another opening-he made a snow tunnel. Utah has the greatest snow!

Our beautiful baby Henry

Henry joined the group on the seventh of July, 2007 (7-7-7, how cool is that! and not planned, I wanted the fourth of July!) He is five months old today and is starting to roll everywhere and is thinking about sitting up. He ate his first biter biscuit last night and is babbling all the time.
He is beautiful, with enormous brown eyes and the trademark eyelashes that all the boys have been blessed with. I cannot wait to see what comes next as Henry gets ready to hit the gound running. Watch out world, here he comes!

Making Cookies
One of the boys favorite things to do is to make cookies, or cake, or anything else that has to do with the kitchenaid mixer. They love sitting on the counter and putting in all of the ingredients, much like I did all those years ago helping mom. Walter is very proud of himself that he can crack an egg and put it in the bowl without any help. He is actually quite good. So, a few days ago we were making cookies and Walter and I each cracked an egg for the bowl. Jack wanted to do one also ( he has to do everything that his brother does) and so he picked up an egg and cracked it on the counter, held it over the bowl and quite forcefully pushed his thumb into the middle of it. The egg split open and the contents went perfectly into the bowl and he managed to hold onto all of the shell. I was so impressed!
