Walter and Jack's Nana has a not so little inflatable pool. During the second week in June, we dragged the pool out of winter storage and began to inflate it. Actually, Mommy began to inflate it-the boys were just cheerleaders. Walter was just certain he was in store for hours of summertime fun in Nana's pool. We filled it with water in the morning and let the heat of the sun warm it while the boys took thier naps. After nap time and a light snack, we were ready to venture out to the pool. Jack took to it immediatly, however Walter would have nothing to do with it. The swim diapers reminded him of pull-ups, and since he will have nothing to do with the big boy potty...he wanted nothing to do with the swim diapers either. Walter spent the entire afternoon sitting by the side of the pool while Jack splashed away. Later that night, Nana got creative and decided that Walter was getting in the pool...whether he liked it or not. Walter was stripped down to nothing and dropped in the pool. He played and played ( as long as he could splash Nana!)
Yesterday, June 26th, Mommy and Daddy decided to take Walter and Jack to the big pool, where Nana goes swimming three times a week. At first Walter was repeating his tantrum and not wanting to go. We convinced him to go for a ride in the car to "look" at the water. Once ther he decided it would be O.K. to "check it out". Once inside mommy held him down and daddy put on his swim diaper and trunks and the four of us headed for the water. Once in the water Walter was a fish! Splashing, kicking, blowing bubbles, jumping off the side and putting his head under. It was amazing to see the transformation. All the way home and even most of today, he cannot stop talking about it. He keeps saying "Water so fun!" We cannot wait to go back.
