Firefighter Doug...and Walter

The Day before mothers day, 2006 walter went with his mommy and daddy and jack to go see a real fire station and meet a real firefighter named Doug. Walter brought three of his stuffed animals to give to the firefighters to give to ther sad children, because the firefighters had once given Walter a stuffed animal when walter was sick and had to ride in the ambulance.
Firefighter Doug was very nice and met us at the door with a fire hat, stickers and a pin for walter to wear. He took us into the garage and showed walter all of the trucks and what they do. Walter was terrified to be that close to a big firetruck, but firefighter doug was very kind and patient. Eventually walter warmed up enough to want to touch the truck and hold the fire hose. He thought that was pretty cool. All in all, it was a good visit, and walter still talks about it. Firefighter Doug is a hero in our home!
